Gapyeong New Street Station (Chinese: 加平站)(old English name: Gapyeong Station) is the main train station in the Gapyeong region, made with a motif of the real-life Gapyeong station. Nearby the station are a Terrralith Desert Village, a cafe, and an unused parkour building. From here, people can catch a ferry to Nami Island.
History
Gapyeong Station opened in September 2023, initially for the Gyeongchun Line and express services only. Only four tracks existed at the time.
Later, Riverina Express (now owned by Moszyan Railways) entered Gapyeong Station, and the ground platform was expanded as the branch line of the Mount Birch Line was extended to here.
In order to increase track capacity and reduce train delays, the operator found that it was necessary to separate the platforms of long-distance and intercity trains from commuter train platforms, so new underground platforms were built in 2024.
After moving the platform of the long-distance trains, two ground platforms remain empty, but trains that take turns at Gapyeong Station or trains with Gapyeong Station as their last stop could use them in the future.
The name was changed from Gapyeong Station to Gapyeong New Street Station, however it can still be identified as Gapyeong.
