The Cashew Transport Authority was a public transport operator on the Let's Play Server. It was established by nooBotond in July 2025 and oversaw one of the fastest-growing transit and urban development on the server until its dissolution in June 2026.
History
Cashew Transport Authority was founded sometime in late July or early August 2025 when its founder, community member and staff nooBotond (noot), was accepted into the Let's Play Builder Team.
- 24 August 2025: The first official statement on the Cashew Transport Authority is posted by nooBotond, opening the Cashew Transport Authority Update Thread on Discord for service status updates.
- 2 September 2025: Cashew's first line, the Highlands Line, opens Phase 1 from New Buckingham to Bethel Road. This also marks the inauguration of Botond Burgers, present in nearly all of Cashew's rail stations, later growing to the largest restaurant chain on the server, as well as the Oakville-Castleton Bus (Route 72) from Oakville via Oakville-Castleton rail station to Castleton.
- 14 September 2025: The Highlands Line Phase 2 opens from New Buckingham to Rykkam.
- 24 September 2025: The Autumn Line Phase 1 opens from Turtle Lake to Port of Autumn. With that, the Oakville-Castleton Bus extends from Oakville to Diorite Bay.
- 4 October 2025: The Toei Chūō Line, operated by Qingli Railways, extends from Bethel Road to Izu. Operation of this section of the line is ceded to the Cashew Transport Authority.
- 11 October 2025: The Autumn Line Phase 2 opens from Port of Autumn to Guriwu Island.
- 14 October 2025: The Peony Branch opens from Cheeselake Village to Lower Lake Village, connecting the Chūō Line to the Autumn Line. It is Cashew's first narrow-gauge railway line, at a 1067 mm (3′6″) gauge.
- 24 October 2025: The first phase of the MetroLink opens as a circular light rail line connecting Port of Autumn, Bridgetown, Upper Lake Village, Horseman Island and more stations, being heavily inspired by the Manchester Metrolink.
- 31 October 2025: Bridgetown Victoria station is opened, connecting the HSR Lisklong Line to the Cashew area. The station is reached by a free MetroLink shuttle service (Phase 2) from Bridgetown Piccadilly that also connects to MediaCityBT (all inspired by Manchester).
- 2 November 2025: MediaCity BT is finished and now includes a shopping mall, the MediaCity Hotel, the Bridgetown Broadcasting Corporation HQ and a christmas tree.
- 3 November 2025: The Amethyst Line opens from Arbour to Kita-Yunlong.
- 6 November 2025: The MetroLink Yi Tsuen branch (Phase 3) opens from Port of Autumn, via a new line from Peony Lake, to Ishima.
- 11/12 November 2025: The Autumn Line is temporarily closed for construction on Phase 3 from Guriwu Island to On Hau, then reopened.
- 25 November 2025: The Weissensee (White Lake) area opens with White Lake Bus 73 from Diorite Bay to Djungelskog, in line with AT service extensions.
- 29 November 2025: White Lake Bus 71, 74 and 75 open from Castleton to Altweissensee, Altweissensee to Chishi, and Chishi to Djungelskog, respectively.
- 2 December 2025: White Lake Railways open from Djungelskog to Volcano West, with a narrow track gauge of 762 mm (2′6″).
- 21 December 2025: The MetroLink Lia Branch from Port of Autumn to Lia Coast and Bethel Spur Line from Bethel Road via Bethel Town to Wong Tai Seng (Phase 4) enter service.
- 23 December 2025: The Highlands Line Phase 3 opens from Bethel Road to Dutchman Village.

- 10/11 March 2026: The Longbridge Line is closed for maintenance, then reopened with Phase 3 from Sydbrygger to Eagletown.
- 12 March 2026: The Autumn Line Phase 4 opens from Turtle Lake to Eagletown.
- 21 March 2026: The Highlands Line Phase 6 opens from Rykkam to Autumn Valley.
- 26 March 2026: The Highlands Line is temporarily closed, then reopened with Express services introduced to the line, skipping most stations and reducing travel time from 23 to 15 minutes.
- 2 April 2026: The Highlands Line Phase 7 opens from Autumn Valley to Daimon Island.
- 25 April 2026: The northern suburbs of Moondow, including Lung Tau, are now accessible, and Moondow Tram 2 from Moondow to Lung Tau and the Edward Mountain Cogwheel Railway (3) from Moondow Market to Edward Mountain enter service. Also, the Moondow Bus routes 200 (Moondow Bus Terminal - Lung Tau), 201 (Amarok Mountain - New Moondow) and 202 (New Moondow - Lung Tau) open.
- 23 May 2026: The Moondow Metro opens as a circular line, and the Highlands Regional from Bridgetown Victoria to Hylkemare enters service.
- 2 June 20262): Moondow Tram 2 extends from Moondow to University of Moondow, and Moondow Metro M1 is opened, renaming the original Metro to M2.
- 27 June 2026: nooBotond leaves the Let's Play Server, marking the dissolution of Cashew Transport Authority. All operations and infrastructure are taken over by Moszyan Railways. The new operator makes several changes in the lines' rolling stock.
- 4 July 2026: Under the new operator, several MetroLink services are rerouted, new Moondow Bus routes open, Moondow Metro M1 is extended from Moondow to Tubetrain Hotel, and Moondow Tram 2T opens, following Tram 2's alignment until Uptown Junction, then continuing to Kraftwerkdorf.

Facilities
Besides the depots listed in the Services tables that served all of Cashew's lines (except the Toei Chūō Line), the Cashew Transport Authority operated several other facilities, both for railway operation and civil infrastructure, providing realism to their urban developments.
Headquarters
The Cashew Transport Authority Headquarters
The Cashew Transport Authority Headquarters are located in Downtown Moondow's South Street, adjacent to the Theatre and City Hall, as well as City Hall Metro station and Moondow Mall Tram stop. They served as the base of operations for the company and control room for line operation. The building has 21 floors and a total capacity of 408 offices, plus nooBotond's CEO office. The ground floor also hosts the Cashew Transport Authority Visitor's Centre, with a vehicle exhibit showing a Highlands Line Class 345, an Amethyst Line Tianjin Metro Line 8 6A stock, a MetroLink Bombardier M5000 and a Moondow Metro M2 Vienna Type U11, which had replaced an Autumn Line MPL 16 parked there earlier.
Oakville Vehicle Testing Facility
The Cashew Transport Authority Vehicle Testing Facility is located just south of Oakville bus stop. The facility has 4 sidings to test the appearance and functionality of various new vehicles. As of August 2026, a Trident Railways SNG, previously in service on the Highlands Regional, a Moondow Metro M1 Metrocar, a Metro M2 Vienna U-Bahn Type V Gen3 and a Seoul Subway train are parked at the facility.
Civil infrastructure
Botond Burgers

Botond Burgers is a restaurant chain founded by nooBotond and governed by the Cashew Transport Authority until the takeover. It is headquartered in Downtown Moondow, between Moondow Mall and the Tubetrain Hotel. Botond Burgers is the largest restaurant, fast food, and overall store chain on the Let's Play Server, having a total of 52 locations within Cashew's former network and almost 70 stores at other locations across the server. It has increasingly gained popularity with the introduction of the Quest system, with an own quest, “Botond Burgers Server Tour”, dedicated to travelling the server to visit various locations. After the takeover, the new owner Moszyan Railways have declared that no development of new stores is to be excpected.
MediaCity Mall
The MediaCity Mall is one of two formerly Cashew-owned malls. It is located at namesake MediaCityBT, which is inspired by MediaCityUK in Manchester. The mall has 5 floors housing a total of 19 stores (including a Botond Burgers restaurant), as well as a post office, a cinema, a playground, a miniature train, and several lounges.
Moondow Mall
The Moondow Mall is the newer of Cashew's two malls, located in the heart of Downtown Moondow across the park from Moondow Station. It has 3 floors with 12 stores, a post office and a cinema. The mall is a walkable distance from the Moondow Tram stop of the same name.
MediaCity Hotel
Just like the malls, there are two formerly Cashew-owned hotels, also in MediaCityBT and Moondow. The first one is the MediaCity Hotel directly adjacent to the MetroLink stop. It has 11 floors, 27 rooms, a restaurant and a rooftop pool terrace. As of August 2026, the hotel is full and no reservations can be made.
Tubetrain Hotel
The Tubetrain Hotel is located in southeastern Downtown Moondow, between the Ferry Pier and the Botond Burgers HQ. It has 18 floors, 70 rooms (of which 40 are 3rd class, 20 are 2nd class and 10 are 1st class), two cafés, a lounge and a rooftop terrace (without pool). The Tubetrain Hotel is served by a Moondow Metro M1 station of the same name. It is also involved in the “Botond Burgers Server Tour” quest. As of August 2026, all 3rd class rooms as well as 11 2nd class rooms are available and can be reserved via the Discord server chat.
