The ceiling is a decorative block that has a [light level](https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Light) of 15.

# Obtaining

## Breaking

Ceiling blocks require a [pickaxe](https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Pickaxe) to be mined, in which case it drops itself. When mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing. It has a [hardness](https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Breaking#Blocks_by_hardness) of 2.

# Usage

The placement direction of the ceiling block depends on the player orientation. The horizontal beams of the block will be placed parallel to the direction where the player is facing.
