On 9 May 2023, Route 735 was added to the Tempest light rail system project together with route 736. This route was suggested by Qingli Railways to connect Sunrise station to Tao Tung stop through the horizontal diameter in the circle of route 717/718. Apart from the route itself, 4 new stations were planned between Tai Wai stop and Toodeepic Ocean stop.
On 9 July 2023, route 735 is completed and fully operational together with the whole Tempest light rail network.
On 20 October 2023, Qingli Railways proposed the “Lilac Light Rail Reform Plan 2023”. According to the plan, Route 735 will be extended to Daimon North stop in order to replace the connection of route 721/722 between Toodeepic Ocean, Dynamic, and places in the south of that. The line color of route 735 will also be changed to a darker color as the current color is too similar to that of route 410.
