====== Kallos Royal Park Station ====== **Kallos Royal Park** is a complex of two stations, a railway station and a light rail station. The railway station serves (or is planned to serve) as the terminus for the Fryske Line and Elizabeth Line. The light rail station serves as a major junction for the Lilac Light Rail, with trains departing from this station in four different directions. It was built in a style somewhat resembling the Elizabeth Line in London, due to the Elizabeth Line being the first line planned in this location. | @#B0B0BE: || | **Kallos Royal Park**\\ 皇家園 || | @#B0B0BE: || | || | @#B0B0BE:**District** | @#B0B0BE:**Station Code** | | Kallos | KRP | | @#B0B0BE:**Opening Date (Light Rail)** | @#B0B0BE:**Opening Date (Heavy Rail)** | | November 29th, 2023 | May 12th, 2024 | | @#B0B0BE:**Owned by** | @#B0B0BE:**Served by** | | Lilypad Rail\\ Moszyan Transport | Moszyan Railways\\ Lilac Right Rail | | @#B0B0BE:**Platforms** | @#B0B0BE:**Tracks** | | 6 | 7 | ===== Layout ===== The light rail station has 4 west-east oriented platforms, three of which serve trains going west, with the remaining platform serving trains going east. There is also a skipping track on the southern end of the station for trains that do not stop at **Royal Park** after leaving the **LRT Depot** station. The heavy rail station has 2 west-east oriented platforms elevated on top of the station building, serving the Fryske Line. In the future, 2 extra platforms will be built underground to facilitate the Elizabeth Line. ===== Trivia ===== * The construction of the Elizabeth Line was on hold for a while, which caused the stations to be built for other lines first instead. The stairwell to the Elizabeth Line can be found boarded off in the heavy rail concourse. * At the east end of the bridge features an orca tail sculpture with a crashed Amsterdam Metro train on top of it. This is a reference to Spijkenisse's Metro Rail Whale statue, known for the crash in 2020 where a Rotterdam Metro train ended up being saved from falling by the massive tail. * This station was the site of the opening of the Fryske Line, where close to 10 people boarded the first ever train in service.
